The blue rested strip follows the bottom of the same XP bar. Only one quest preview is active at a time. Rested XP applies to eligible kills; it isn’t added to quest rewards.
What if my quests take me past this level?
The colored preview ends at the edge of the current bar. The Quests tab shows the projected level and percentage after turn-ins. That projection counts quest rewards, so XP from fighting along the way is extra.
HOVER FOR THE DETAILS
A closer look, when you need it.
Hover over the XP bar for exact progress, rested XP, an estimated number of kills to level and your quest projection.
Estimates depend on your recent pace and available reward data.
02
MAKE THE REWARDS VISIBLE
Your next level might be in your log.
Check what’s ready to hand in—or build a plan from the quests you want to finish next.
Ready quests: individual rewards, turn-in instructions when known, and a warning when leveling first would reduce a reward.
A real plan: five selected quests, 11,525 XP, and a projected finish at level 23 · 38.6%.
Choose your quests. Open Details → Quests → Plan quests. Select individual quests, or tick a zone or dungeon group.
Put the plan on your bar. Choose “Show plan on XP bar.” The preview turns cyan.
Keep browsing freely. Changing the detail tab doesn’t change the active preview. Use the small yellow/cyan control beside the tracker’s quest summary to switch it.
Rewards are a preview. Unknown XP is excluded; estimated rewards are marked. Rewards may change as you level. A quest’s category isn’t necessarily its turn-in location.
See the active plan on the warrior’s tracker
At 99.4%, only a sliver of cyan fits before the end of the bar. The summary still shows the full planned XP.

KNOW BEFORE YOU GO
What can I learn? What will it cost?
See unlearned class spells available now, their ranks and estimated prices. Future unlocks stay separate.
Available now comes first. The next actual training level follows, with later unlocks grouped underneath.
Current needs first
Available spells remain visible even if your next character level has no new spells. Right-click a spell to ignore or restore it.
Plan the next ding
The “Next level” filter shows unlocks at your exact next level. Prices are estimates; trainer discounts and prerequisite ranks can change the bill.
Training data is included. You don’t need another training addon installed.
04
MAKE THE STOP COUNT
Handle the essentials. Then head back out.
Repairs, free bag slots, training and professions share one checklist. Tasks needing attention rise to the top.
This warrior has repairs, limited bag space and three spells to train. Durability refers to the most damaged equipped item.
Urgency you can see
Critical durability is red at 25% or below. Other warnings stay amber; healthy items move into “All good.”
Profession room to grow
Near-cap warnings appear with ten or fewer skill points left. Click a profession for the next rank, requirements, estimated cost and a learning location.
A SMALL REMINDER, NOT ANOTHER BIG WINDOW
Your town post-it.
Enter an inn or city with things to do and the small note appears. Click a task for details; completed tasks check off automatically during that visit.
Closed it early? Use “Show town note” in Town or .
Budget, Hearthstone and mail
“Training budget” combines eligible class spells and next profession ranks, then compares the estimate with your gold. Hearthstone shows your destination and cooldown.
Mail reminders can show saved sender, subject, attachments, gold and expiry details after you visit a mailbox. Outside the mailbox, those details are labeled “Last checked.” ThadXP never collects, sends or deletes mail for you.
Town is a checklist, not a travel route. A listed trainer is an example for the correct rank; quest turn-ins may be elsewhere. Forever beta guidance may change.

WHERE IT ALL STARTED
Every pull tells you something.
XP, mob count and pull duration were the beginning. Session history lets you see how they add up.

EXAMPLE PARTY REPORT
ThadXP: Pull lasted 1:47 · 28 XP earned (mine) · 1 XP-granting kill · I died
XP belongs to your character. XP-granting kills are not the total enemies fought. “I died” appears only when your death was recorded during that pull, starting with this update. It never claims the whole party wiped. Sharing is manual and requires a party.
THE THADXP STORY
It started with one question.
It started with a mage, some AoE pulls, and a simple question: how much XP did that pull give me, and how many mobs were in it?
Comparing pulls led to session history and leveling pace. Then came the decisions between pulls: spells to train, quests to hand in, a dungeon’s rewards to plan, and things to sort out in town. That small XP counter became a companion for the whole leveling journey—whatever class you play.
A NOTE FROM THAD
I’ve played WoW for years, usually gravitating toward tanking—a paladin at heart, with plenty of warrior time too. Returning for Forever brought me back to leveling, and ThadXP grew from wanting a clearer picture of that journey.
For now, I’m sharing it with friends and fellow players. Try it on your own leveling journey and let me know what helps—and what could be better.

GET INTO THE GAME
One addon. Both clients.
The same ZIP works for Forever beta and TBC Anniversary. ThadXP detects the client and uses the matching data.
Extract the ZIP. You’ll get a folder named ThadXP.
Move it into your active client’s AddOns folder.

Enable ThadXP in WoW’s AddOns menu. The folder should contain ThadXP.toc directly, without a second nested ThadXP folder. Restart WoW if a new installation isn’t listed; use /reload after an update.
Make it yours. Open Details → Settings for scale, optional tracker rows, notifications and pull recording.

THE ADDON KEEPS GROWING
What’s new.
Recent additions, fixes and small improvements to your leveling companion.
v1.28.1
LATEST
Clarify party reports: pull duration, your XP earned and XP-granting kills instead of implying all enemies in the encounter were counted.
Record your death during a pull, show it in pull details, and append "I died" to its party report. This does not claim a party wipe; old pulls are not retroactively labeled.
Preserve XP-granting kill counts after detailed history is trimmed and use saved attribution when reporting older pulls.
v1.28.0 Previous release
Share a completed pull to party chat with Share to party in its detail view. /txp share reports the latest completed pull, including while another pull is in progress.
Reports contain one line with your earned XP, tracked mob count and duration. Sharing is manual, requires a party, and never sends to raid or public chat. No damage-meter data or automatic reports.
Support modern Forever and legacy TBC chat APIs.
v1.27.0 Previous release
Focus pass: the same look with less to read. Everything is still one click or one hover away.
Details tabs now run Session, Quests, Training, Town. The duplicate red Close button is gone; use × or Escape.
Tracker redesign: a readable gold title, larger level and percent, a thicker XP bar, and time to level as the headline ("36 min to level 22") with XP/h beside it. Below a divider, quests, the most urgent Town errand and the last pull use the same row style as Town (icon, label, value, ›). Rows appear only when they have something to show, and the tracker grows or shrinks from its top edge. Rested XP is a clear blue strip along the bottom of the bar. Rows use a colored stripe like the Town tab. Mail shows how many letters are waiting.
Resizing the tracker changes its width only; text keeps one size and the height follows the content. Use Tracker scale (now up to 1.6) to make everything larger. A tracker widened for bigger text returns to the normal width once.
Tracker header matches the Details window: title plate on the top border, framed Details tab, red close button. Help and Settings moved to the Details window's top-left corner. With a quest plan, the quest row's stripe becomes a yellow/cyan switch (ready/plan) that also explains the bar colours. The last-pull row is highlighted only during a live pull, and a single kill reads "1 mob".
Quests: click a quest to open it in WoW's quest log (right-click in Plan). Rows without a known turn-in location are one line. Individual rewards are neutral; the total keeps the preview colour. "Shown on your XP bar" replaces the disabled button.
Training: Later, Missing requirements, Other sources and Ignored fold under clickable headers that show their count and total. The summary reads "3 spells to train now" or "Nothing to train now · next training at level 22". Training alerts is quiet text instead of a red button.
Town note tasks are clickable: Training opens the Training tab, Bag space opens your bags, Repair gear opens your character sheet (hover lists damaged items, worst first), professions open their next-rank details.
Minimap button sits on the minimap's edge at any size (Forever's minimap is larger) and on square minimaps; it follows the minimap when it resizes.
Your best spots: the Session tab ranks places you pulled at your level by median XP/min (comparable pulls, at least 3 per place); hover for the top five.
Kills to level and a rested timer in the XP bar tooltip: "~42 kills to level" at your recent XP per kill, and "Full rested in 2 d 6 h" while in a resting area.
Hearthstone in Town: where it takes you and whether it is ready.
Level-up summary in chat: pulls at the old level, spells to train with cost, quests ready (Settings → Notifications). It replaces the separate training alert while on.
Turn in before you level: ready quests that will give less XP after your next level are listed first and flagged in Quests, the tracker tooltip and Town (quest XP drops to 80/60/40/20/10% once you are 6+ levels above a quest).
Quest log space: the Quests tab shows "Quest log 18/20" (amber when nearly full, red when full) and counts gray quests, which are dimmed and marked "gray, little XP" in Plan quests.
Town note: reopen it after closing with Show town note in the Town tab (while in an inn or city) or /txp note.
Town: sections for tasks, All good and Professions. The intro counts the errands left. Captions moved to tooltips. The training budget is hidden when there is nothing to buy.
Mail and training budget rows match the other Town rows. New mail after an empty saved inbox reads "New mail since your last mailbox visit" instead of "0 letters".
Settings are grouped under Tracker, Details window, Notifications and Pull recording, with shorter labels.
Updating? Replace the addon folder, then type /reload. Your character settings and history live separately in WoW’s WTF folder and are not part of the download.
